Elvie Drumgoole: First when it comes to dslr cameras you can forget "better"... there's different for sure but not better. All dslr cameras from these two companies will produce excellent photos but to get there you must know how to properly operate the camera and lens. I'm a Canon guy so I only recommend what I own and know. The t3i is excellent for both stills and 1080 HD video. But you don't need to spend that much to get a good Canon dslr with video. I shoot a t1i and it too is excellent and about $300 less that the t3i. The XSi doesn't do video. It's a fine Canon dslr but no video. I don't know if video is important but if it isn't then you certainly don't need to spend $950 on a camera. But it's your money so good luck...Show more
