Troy Monsivais: I am proud of you that you are definately going to college right after high school. I graduated a few years ago, and decided to "take a break" because I just hated high school so much. I had gotten accepted into one of the best universities around. I ended up working dead end jobs for 6 years. Now I am finally back in college and I LOVE IT. It's NOTHING like high school. It's actually fun to me. So anways, the Federal Government gives out financial aid. Go onto fafsa.gov and apply. It's free to apply. Did you work last year? Did you claim taxes (or your parents) and did you get a W2? Did your parents work last year and how much did they get back on taxes? If you still live with your parents, it is a good idea to have them sit down with you and help you fill out the application. The reason why is that they will need their tax paperwork from last year in order for you to complete the application. It asks alot of money about gross income, net i! ncome, whether or not you received government funds such as food stamps, SSI, etc. This is how they determine if you are eligible for financial aid, and if so how much you will getAs long as your parents aren't RICH, you should get something for financial aid. If not, this means your parents make alot of money, and in that case ask them to help you pay for college.Good luck in school!!!...Show more
Foster Koopmann: File for the FAFSA and you'll get financial aid based on your parent's income and assets owned by your parents (such as a lake house or stocks, not your primary home or cars).
