Is an HDMI cable needed with Comcast HD service?

Manual Burtis: HDMI is the best picture you can get! i know directv's HD receiver comes with HDMI cable.. not sure if Comcast gives one! HD DVR is a seperate fee i think maybe $5-$8

Ninfa Asby: Hd Box Comcast

Nilda Bafia: If you have an HDMI tv you MUST buy the HDMI cable cord from the retailer. Comcast does not (under any circumstance) supply that cord.I know, I work for the bastards.

Raymon Fiene: It depends. I have two Comcast Motorola HD DVRs, and although they both have HDMI outputs, they are both disabled. It depends on your location and the luck of the draw whether your HD DVR will have HDMI enabled. So wait until you get it and look in the DVR's diagnostic display to see whether HDMI is enabled before you buy a cable. Comcast gave me component cables with each DVR, which are good enough for the 1080i maximum resolution they provide. And the HD DVR *is* the HD cable tuner, so it's all in one box....Show more

Romeo Tinnea: Comcast Hd Service!

Freddy Shutler: You know it is truly amazing how much these people believe what others say about HDMI cables. Let me explain something to you and to everyone else who seems to believe that all HDMI cables are the same. I sell them and make no commision. You do want an HDMI cable for best picture and quality audio! So you have a gentlemen here who sais to spend 20 USD on an HDMI and not 200 USD. I can agree with that. No HDMI cable is 200 USD unless you need like 30 feet of HDMI. So lets talk about your $20 HDMI Cable and your $100 HDMI cable. Hmmm big difference for a cable! But is there a difference. Yes there is! If you have a 240HZ LED LCD or a 600Hz plasma, that speed is fast. So let me ask this question too those who think they know best! Your telling me that the HDMI cable used for a 60Hz LCD is just as good as the HDMI cable for the 240Hz? LMAO wow!!! First you need to know what it is your talking about before you actually answer a question! There is a signifi! cant difference. Dont believe me? Go buy your $20 HDMI and you! r $100 HDMI and watch something with one hdmi and then watch it again with the other! You tell me, Ive done it and unless your blind you do see the difference. You need a good quality HDMI with a 240Hz Transfer rate of 15.8 GB per second!! Do your research people! (Not talking to the asker)...Show more
