Hunter Osterberger: Here's the deal with real estate. If you want to be successful then you have to work it. Some people have the misconception that you just go in to the office, answer the phone for a couple of hours a day and that's all you need to do to be successful. It's not. You have to contact people. You need to contact everyone you know asking them who they know that's looking to buy or sell a house. You need to contact For Sale By Owners (FSBOs) and expired listings and try to get them to list with you. You have to treat it like a full time job if you want to make money! . Majorie Chester: So you know, i've been a licenesed REALTOR for four years. Currently i am selling motorcycles. Real Estate is a tuff game, realtors can be ruthless to eachother. It is a cut throat business. I mean that they fight to get a listing.... Any hoo, i enjoy being a realtor but to do it full time is tuff. Starting out 90+% fail ! Money is the key, you need money to live on and money to to be a REALTOR. With all fee's and member due's plus lot's of thing's you don't think about "point is $$$$$$". Oh ya, TAXES... I would talk to some Broker's and REALTORS in your area and get some different view's first handIn my area there are over a 1000 agents.
